2022-11-18 | Weekly Reflections

How would you describe the week? ❤️

Tough! Last week our senior leadership announced that there would be some changes to our org design and there were lots of questions which had been raised as a result. I've spent most of this week trying to support people, helping to run workshops and give clarity where I possibly can.

The week has flown by though as it's been so busy, but I'm physically and mentally exhausted.

What was good about this week? 👍

  • I got to work with some amazing and talented people across the week that I don't usually get to work with.

  • The delivery community have been amazing, we got to work on putting in sessions so we can support our community through the change, and we ran a selection exercise so that the Delivery community could have their say in what area they wanted to be part of.

  • Created a delivery working group to think about what we need to do to set teams up for success once the org design has been completed. We decided that there were two sessions that we needed to run with every team as a minimum:

  • Team Canvas

  • Team API

  • I presented at our All Hands which had colleagues across cinch. I presented the launch of our new LGBTQIA+ Network which I've set up and I'm leading on.

  • I also sent out our first edition of 'The Tea' which is our LGBTQIA+ Network magazine on the topic of Trans Awareness Week and got lots of people emailing back to say how good it is. It peaked the interest of our brand team who want to support in developing a brand template for the magazine for future editions.

  • Putting in focus time throughout the week to support me get some things done and being able to manage my to-do list better

What could I do better at next week? 🔍

  • I need to not spread myself so thin next week and look after my own mental health as well as supporting others - as leaders it's really easy to forget about yourself when you're helping others through change. I'm also going to check in on other leaders to make sure that they're looking after themselves.

  • Keep going with doing these reflections and get back into the habit - I've stopped for a while but it isn't until I do one again, I realise how beneficial it is for me to write down my thoughts.
